What we do
On these pages you will find the activities the club undertakes within the community.
Our Youth activities, including competitions and activities, we are very proud to have sponsored many young adults on the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) where participants go on a week long course on Dartmoor. We also help those in local school hone there interview skill and gaining valuable advice and reed back from members of the business and commercial community.
On Community activities are based around helping other in our local community such as Memory Cafe, One Step Futher Stroke Club and Parkinson's Club, where members help out at these clubs. We also help youth, schools and local charities.
As a club we support the Rotary global goal of eradicating Polio through vaccination, we are nearly there. As a way to support Polio Plus this members have been planting crocus bulbs around St Austell to help publicice Purple4Polio and bring colour to the town.
As a club we support a Shelterbox that is a Cornish Charity that provides emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies to families around the world who are affected by disasters.
Club members also support the Friends of Ebanezer in Livingston, Zambia where the lives of orphaned children who had no homes or chances of education are given a home and education, thus opening up the opportunity to support themselves once they leave education
Mercy Ships is an organisation that have hospital ships that provide medical care and operations free of charge to those who other wise could not afford it and have life shortening afflictions, the ships are crewed by volunteers from the crew to the nurses and doctors.
We have also teamed up previously with other overseas Rotary Clubs to deliver projects to help those less fortunate than ourselves, where this is medical, educational, health and civil engineering projects
